The Accelerated EMT course is an intensive, in-person Emergency Medical Technician training program. The Course runs for two (2) consecutive weeks, Monday through Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (12 days total), and is led by EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, Medical Student, PA, RN, and MD instructors. Course dates, times, and location are published on the ResQ Education website and in your registration confirmation and are subject to change as described in Section 15.

Upon successful completion, Students become eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) cognitive and psychomotor examinations. The Course also includes training toward the following certifications, which are awarded upon successful completion of the applicable requirements:

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

• American College of Surgeons (ACS) Stop the Bleed 

• FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, and IS-5.

The Course is designed primarily for individuals looking to enter healthcare as a career — including pre-med, pre-PA, nursing, and other pre-health majors — and is open to any eligible applicant. No prior medical experience or coursework is required.

To enroll in and participate in the Course, you must:

1. Be at least 18 years of age at the start of the Course, or provide written parent/guardian consent if enrolling as a minor where permitted by applicable law. 

2. Be able to complete the required 40 hours of self-paced online pre-course coursework prior to Day 1 of the in-person Course (see Section 4).

3. Be physically able to safely participate in hands-on skills training, patient movement, and simulated emergency scenarios, with or without reasonable accommodation (see Section 9).

4. Meet any additional eligibility, licensing, or background-check requirements imposed by the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB), the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, or other applicable state or federal authority as a condition of certification or licensure.

ResQ Education does not perform criminal background checks as a condition of Course enrollment. However, state certification, NREMT eligibility, and EMT employment may independently require a criminal background check, and a disqualifying result under applicable law (felony charges) may prevent you from becoming certified or licensed even after successfully completing the Course. ResQ Education does not control and cannot guarantee the outcome of any such background check or licensing decision.

Total tuition for the Course is $2,475.88 USD. Payment plans are available upon checkout. Registration is not confirmed, and your seat is not reserved, until payment (or an approved payment plan agreement) has been received.

Course space is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. ResQ Education recommends registering well in advance of the Course start date.

Before Day 1 of the in-person Course, all Students must complete 40 hours of self-paced online training modules covering human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and introductory EMT readings. This coursework is accessed through the ResQ Education online student portal (resqedu.learnworlds.com) using the login credentials created at the time of purchase.

Failure to complete the required pre-course coursework prior to Day 1 may result in the Student being unprepared for hands-on training, and ResQ Education reserves the right to deny or postpone a Student’s participation in the in-person portion of the Course until the pre-course requirement is satisfied. No refund is guaranteed in connection with a delay or denial of participation caused by incomplete pre-course work.

Tuition includes the required online pre-course work, one (1) uniform shirt, one (1) backpack, one (1) vital sign kit (stethoscope, BP cuff, & pen light), course materials binder, course textbook, in-person instruction, NREMT Psychomotor Exam, & applicable tax. 

Tuition does not include the cost of the NREMT cognitive examination fees, state certification or licensing fees, background check fees, immunization or health screening costs, personal transportation, meals, or lodging. Students are responsible for these costs separately.

Because the Course is condensed into 12 consecutive instructional days, regular and punctual attendance for the full duration of each class day is mandatory. Minnesota EMT certification standards and NREMT eligibility require completion of a minimum number of instructional and skills hours; missed time may not be recoverable within the same course session and may make a Student ineligible to complete the Course or sit for the NREMT examination, regardless of the reason for the absence.

Students who anticipate an absence or tardiness must notify ResQ Education as far in advance as possible at training@resqedu.com. ResQ Education will make a reasonable effort to advise the Student whether missed time can be made up, but makes no guarantee that missed instructional or skills time can be recovered.

Students are expected to conduct themselves professionally and safely at all times, including during in-person classes, skills labs, scenario training, and any clinical ride-along experience with a partner EMS agency. ResQ Education may suspend or dismiss a Student from the Course, without refund, for any of the following:

• Conduct that endangers the safety of the Student, other Students, instructors, staff, or members of the public;

• Academic dishonesty, including cheating on examinations or skills evaluations;

• Failure to meet minimum attendance requirements (see Section 6);

• Failure to meet minimum academic or skills-competency standards established by ResQ Education or its instructors;

• Being under the influence of alcohol or unauthorized drugs during any Course activity;

• Violation of the policies of any clinical, ride-along, or partner site, including dress code, HIPAA/patient privacy, and site-specific conduct rules; or

• Providing false or materially incomplete information during registration or enrollment.

A Student dismissed for cause under this Section is not entitled to any refund of tuition already paid.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to training@resqedu.com. Refunds are calculated based on the date the written request is received, as follows:

• Seven (7) or more days before the Course start date: 75% refund of tuition paid.

• Within seven (7) days before the Course start date: 50% refund of tuition paid.

• On or after the Course start date: No refund will be issued for any reason.

ResQ Education strongly encourages Students to confirm their schedule and availability before enrolling. Exceptions to this policy will not be made for scheduling conflicts, academic performance, partial attendance, or dismissal for cause. ResQ Education reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a Course session; in that event, enrolled Students will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to a future session, at the Student’s election.

Course activities include physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, kneeling, and moving simulated or real patients, as well as extended periods of standing and hands-on skills practice. By enrolling, you represent that you are physically and mentally able to safely participate in these activities, with or without a reasonable accommodation. If you require an accommodation, contact training@resqedu.com before the Course begins so ResQ Education can evaluate the request.

Students participating in clinical ride-along experiences with a partner EMS agency may be required to complete additional health screenings, immunizations, or documentation (such as proof of specific vaccinations or a negative TB test) as a condition of participating at that site. These requirements are set by the partner site, not ResQ Education, and ResQ Education is not responsible for a Student’s inability to complete a clinical placement due to failure to meet a partner site’s requirements.

Successful completion of the Course makes a Student eligible to sit for the NREMT examination; it does not itself certify or license the Student as an EMT. Certification and licensure decisions are made solely by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and applicable state regulatory authorities (including the Minnesota EMSRB), not by ResQ Education, and may be affected by factors outside ResQ Education’s control, including criminal history, examination performance, and state-specific requirements.

ResQ Education does not guarantee that any Student will pass the NREMT examination, receive state certification or licensure, or obtain employment as an EMT following completion of the Course.

EMS training involves inherent risks, including but not limited to the risk of physical injury, exposure to bodily fluids or infectious disease, exposure to simulated or real emergency scenarios, and the risks associated with operating or riding in emergency vehicles during clinical ride-along experiences. Death, serious injury, and property damage are, although uncommon, possible risks of participation.

By enrolling in and participating in the Course, you voluntarily assume all such risks and agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to release, waive, and hold harmless ResQ Education, its owners, officers, employees, instructors, agents, and any partner clinical or ride-along site, from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, or damages of any kind arising out of or related to your participation in the Course, except to the extent caused by ResQ Education’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

The Course may include an optional clinical ride-along experience with a partner EMS agency. Participation at any third-party clinical or ride-along site is not guaranteed and is subject to each site’s own availability, policies, procedures, dress code, and eligibility requirements (including any background check, health screening, or immunization requirement imposed by that site), in addition to these Terms. ResQ Education is not responsible for the acts, omissions, policies, or requirements of any third-party site.

ResQ Education may photograph or record Students during Course activities for use in training materials, marketing, and promotional content (including on its website and social media). By participating in the Course, you consent to such use unless you notify ResQ Education in writing, prior to the Course start date, that you do not wish to be photographed or recorded.

All course materials, including online modules, handouts, slide decks, and assessments, are the property of ResQ Education and are provided for the Student’s personal use in connection with the Course only. Students may not copy, distribute, publicly post, or share Course materials without ResQ Education’s prior written consent.

ResQ Education reserves the right to modify Course dates, times, instructors, location, or content as reasonably necessary, and will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled Students of any material change. ResQ Education also reserves the right to update these Terms from time to time; the version in effect at the time of your registration governs your enrollment, unless a later version is required by law or is otherwise agreed in writing.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResQ Education’s total liability arising out of or related to the Course, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, will not exceed the total tuition paid by the Student for the Course. ResQ Education is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages of any kind.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

These Terms, together with any registration form, payment agreement, or other document expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between the Student and ResQ Education regarding the Course and supersede any prior oral or written understandings.
